Engineer Calls A Scientist ‘Unprofessional’ Just Because She Rocks Red Hair And Tattoos, She Hits Him On Twitter
Should women be judged by their appearance?
As the world sees a new morning and night, so are strict outfits gradually disappearing in many offices. A lot of employers have finally realized the fact that asking people to sit at a spot all day while sweltering in a suit and tie doesn’t, however, make sense.
And now, women are boldly expressing themselves through their appearances at work, but some are tagged unprofessional.
For example, an environmentalist Scientist, Joleah Lamb took to her twitter requesting for users suggestion and opinions about men commenting on women’s dress in our modern time.
Joleah got some harsh responses with one resulting in an exchange between Stephanie E. Suarez and an Engineer from Chevron. Stephanie got a message on Linkedln from the Engineer, condemning her appearance.
Their exchange indeed shed some lights on the problem that women scientists are faced with every day. Instead of making their work speak for them, some men still feel women should justify themselves through appearances.
