Three-Year-old Throws a Macabre-Themed Birthday Party Inspired By Horror Film: Nun
A three-year-old girl went viral on Twitter for choosing to celebrate her birthday party inspired by her favorite film The nun.
Twitter user @dreeaaxo_ shared photos of her little cousin Lucia dressed up in a nun’s habit with her face eerily painted white with black rimming her eyes, and the adorably creepy images quickly went viral.
‘So it was my cousins 3rd birthday and instead of having a normal theme she chose this [sic],’ she captioned the images. The pictures have more than 120,000 retweets and 530,000 likes since they were posted on Tuesday.
Lucia’s terrifying look was inspired by Valak, the demonic nun featured in the 2016 horror film The Conjuring 2 and its 2018 spin-off The Nun.
Peele, director of the horror films Get Out and Us, was so delighted by the snapshots that he sent shoutouts to the little girl; retweeted the post, asking: ‘Does she have a Godfather?’
actress Bonnie Aarons, who plays Valak in the horror movies also applauded the little girl
‘Happy Birthday Lucia!!! HAPPY EVERY DAY!!’ she wrote, prompting Lucia’s mom Laura E. Brown to respond: ‘Thanks a lot!!! She is such a fan of yours!!!’
Meanwhile, the official account for AMC’s original series The Walking Dead posted three heart emoji in the comments section of the tweet.
Lucia undoubtedly played out her character as she made her point not to smile in any of the photos snapped in her macabre themed party.
Not only did she dress up as her favorite character, but she also had her guests channel their inner demons for the bash.
The Twitter user posted a snapshot of her cousin posing with the papier-mâché nun and her friend, whose face is also painted.
Lucia’s mother originally shared the photos on Facebook, writing: ‘Like when your daughter turns 3, and her favorite character is the nun. Everything is to see her happy!!!’
However, it was when they were posted to Twitter that Lucia shot to online fame, and people rushed to praise her for the originality.
‘I fully support whatever decision this child makes for the rest of their life,’ one person wrote, while another added: ‘I’m equal parts scared and delighted tbh.’
Someone else tweeted: ‘She is basically a real-life Wednesday Addams.’
