Brendan Fraser Is ‘Absolutely’ Up For More ‘The Mummy’ Reboot
Maybe it’ll be successful this time.
Brendan Fraser is probably most recognizable when you relate him to ancient Egpytian mumbo-jumbo movie, ‘The Mummy’. The trilogy which was failed for a reboot, Fraser played the playful ignorant card, “Oh, they did?”
Fraser admits that it’s really hard to execute the movie with just the right amount of fun, action and acting.
“Just gotta say, I know how hard it is to make that movie. I tried to do it three times, and the essential ingredient is fun. You gotta remember to have fun. So if there’s a fun way to approach it again, I’m all in.”
And when asked whether he’ll be ready for a reboot of the movie? He answers without hesitation, “Absolutely!”
Fraser also shows a favor towards his opposite co-star, Rachel Weisz, “Working with Rachel, it’s Rachel f’in Weisz. She’s wonderful, you know, if you’re really impressed with talent and good humor. A belly laugh that could break a window.”
He added, “I mean, come on. It’s Rachel Weisz, she’s lovely. And believe everything. She got stuck with all the exposition in that show. Which is good, that means all the talking. I was just the guy like, ‘Hurry up, let’s go, come on! That thing is gonna go bang!’ It worked out.”
Previously, ‘The Mummy’ reboot with Tom Cruise back in 2017 was meant to have a nod towards the original franchise of the trilogy. A hidden Easter egg was even added and Alex Kurtzman planned to create a ‘Dark Universe’ of it. Fraser is now Robotman in DC’s streaming series ‘Doom Patrol’.
