Amazon’s ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Adaptation Has First Cast Member Confirmed

FINALLY. SOMETHING.

So much is hidden about Amazon’s new series on ‘Lord of The Rings’. While we know that it’s going to be a prequel from ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’ and the amazing people involved in the series, the cast and storyline are still yet unclear. A lot of things happened prior to ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’, many of which worth telling.

We do know J.A Bayona from ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ is directing the first two episodes of the series, Bryan Cogman from ‘Game of Thrones’ series will be the consultant and writers have kept everything hidden very well.

Bayona also hinted on the Second Age which dates up to the moment when the war between the Elves and Men ended in Sauron’s Mordor. When Sauron loses, the Second Age ended and we know there is a lot of drama to dig and battle to keep us at the edge of our seats. May this be one of the greatest battles yet.

We now have our first cast confirmed and that would this lady right here:

Markella Kavenagh is being cast as ‘Tyra’, a non-existing character from Tolkien’s book. This could just be a placeholder, a codename from preventing the story of the series from leaking out. Kavanagh is mostly known today to star in a recent Australian TV adaptation of ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’ with Natalie Dormer.

Nothing else, not even the year when the series will come out is given, but since they have announced their first cast for the series, it seems that everything is going smoothly. Perhaps the team can begin filming later this year which may lead the release of the series to the end of next year.
