D23Expo: 3 Marvel Characters Honored As Disney Legends

Congratulations for becoming Legends!

Yearly, the Walt Disney Company makes sure it honors a new group of individuals who have significantly impacted to the Disney legacy by honoring them as Disney legends. In 2019, which is this year, three members of the Marvel’s character will be honored this award. Robert Downey Jr., Ming Na Wen and Jon Favreau along with eight others individuals ( Wing Chao, James Earl Jones, Bette Midler, Kenny Ortega, Barnette Ricci, Robin Roberts, Diane Sawyer, and Hans Zimmer) will be joining about 289 previous legends at this year’s D23Expo in August – hosted by Bob Igber, Disney CEO.

“The Disney Legends Award is the highest honor we can bestow; it’s a recognition of talent, a celebration of achievement, and an expression of profound gratitude to the remarkable men and women who have made an indelible mark on our company and our creative legacy. “This year’s honorees have earned a place in our hearts and our history for their significant contributions in film, television and our theme parks around the world.” Igber stated.

Robert Downey Jr.

However, the golden globe winner and the two times academy award nominee, Robert Downey Jr. is best known for his character (Iron Man) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Beginning with Marvel Studios’ Iron Man in 2008 and ending with Avengers: Endgame, Tony Stark had equally appeared in Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Ming-Na Wen

Ming-Na Wen, who is currently playing Agent Melinda May (aka the Cavalry) on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D”, started her journey with Disney in 1996. She has contributed voice to a number of shows for Disney to including Disney XD’s “Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors.

Jon Favreau

Similarly, Jon Favreau had also played Happy Hogan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he is also an executive producer for Marvel Studios with acknowledgements on Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and Iron Man 3, Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and “Avengers: Infinity War. Before his work with Marvel, he has voiced works for Disney, some of which include Hercules, G-Force,” and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
