‘The Crown’ Will Reach A Closer In Its Fifth Season While Starring Imelda Staunton

‘The Crown’ on Netflix is finally reaching its last moments with its fifth season marking the finale. As timeline goes by, the producers are known to bring in new line of cast to portray the characters, including Queen Elizabeth II. Scriptwriter Peter Morgan who wrote ‘The Queen’ in 2006 wrote the series.

Imelda Staunton receives the honor to portray Queen Elizabeth II for its appearance.

She said, “I have loved watching ‘The Crown’ from the very start. I am genuinely honored to be joining such an exceptional creative team and to be taking the crown to its conclusion.”

Peter Morgan has also spoken on the ending show, “At the outset I had imagined ‘The Crown’ running for six seasons but now that we have begun work on the stories for season five it has become clear to me that this is the perfect time and place to stop.” He also thanks Netflix and Sony to supported his decision.

Regarding his decision or recasting, Morgan said, “Right from the start, we decided that if it all worked and kept going, we would recast every two seasons. I think that the longest you can believe an actor in an aging part is about 20 years.”
