HyperX Unveils Cloud Alpha S gaming headset; Ultra-Comfortable with virtual 7.1 surround

The Hyper X cloud Alpha had promised comfort and clarity for pro gamers and it delivered and now the company is unveiling a follow-up to its popular gaming headset. The new Cloud Alpha S, complete with a 7.1 virtual surround sound through a wired audio control box that’s similar to other HyperX’s headsets.

The box comes with another interesting feature; individual volume controls for chat and game audio functioning independently.

The headphones adopt the same comfortable design as its previous models. This includes memory foam and a light design due to its aluminum frame. Gamers can also adjust the volume and mute the noise-canceling microphone with the headphone’s detachable audio control.

The hardware is also pretty similar, including the dual-chamber design which HyperX claims will improve audio quality by tuning and separating the bass from the mids and highs.

The HyperX brand is popular with professional sports players claim that the dual chambers reduce sound distortion, and provide a “rich, textured sound for extraordinary spatial awareness,” and it can be comfortably worn for hours at a time.

There is also a chunky new bass slider on the rear that allows one to adjust the low end on the fly.

The new HyperX will be on sale in September for $129.99

Like its previous model, the HyperX Cloud Alpha is compatible with PCs and the major gaming Consoles like Nintendo Switch, and VR systems with a 3.5mm port.
