Natalie Portman Returns To Thor 4 With Taika Waititi – And She’s Going To Be Lady Thor

She is finally back!

We are getting the fourth installment of Thor (finally!), and Taika Waititi is returning to direct the movie. Other things we are sure about are that Chris Hemsworth returns as Thor alongside the new Queen of Asgard, Valkyrie played by Tessa Thompson.

The last revelation on SDCC 2019 that we’re all surprised with is the return of Natalia Portman who won’t only be Jane Foster, but also Lady Thor.

Yes, Taika Waititi handed over the (old) hammer of Thor (which was probably stolen from himself during the time heist in ‘Avengers: Endgame’). Waititi reveals that he is inspired by ‘The Might Thor’ comics he recently read and might base the fourth installment plot on that.

“That storyline [‘The Might Thor’] is incredible is full of emotion, love, and thunder and introduces for the first time female Thor.”

You can imagine the standing ovation of everyone when they saw Portman walked on stage and was handed the hammer. The women are especially elated to see another heroine making it into the universe. But nobody knows what happened, how it will happen or anything else because nobody has seen the script.

The fourth installment will also be called ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ which was probably hinting back at the return of the (new power) couple.

However, the fourth movie of Thor won’t be happening anytime soon. According to the timeline Marvel revealed on SDCC 2019, ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ is slated for release on November 5, 2021.

San Diego Comic-con 2019 has also revealed that ‘Blade’ won’t be part of Marvel’s Phase 4 and that ‘The Falcon and Winter Soldier’ as well as ‘WandaVision’ are TV shows that begin streaming on Disney+.

SDCC 2019 has been amazing – we get the confirmation we’ve always needed on Phase 4 of Marvel, we see actors and actresses saying goodbyes to lifelong shows and greeted new people into the Marvel Universe such as Angelina Jolie and Ma Dong Seok.

What do you think about SDCC 2019 this year?
