We’re all excited for more new episodes of NBC’s ‘This is Us’ but as always, it’s not one we can always be cheery about. Considering how the show never fails to make us spend a few boxes of tissue every time.
Season 4 is bringing people back to the 70s to dive even more into the life of the very first Pearson family. The first looks show what the premiere is going to tackle.
In this picture, Jack, still portrayed by Milo Ventimiglia, has only recently returned from the battle of Vietnam which may have imposed a PTSD syndrome on him. Speaking to EW, “I’m curious to see how Jack boxes it all up and stuffs it away and I think it’s going to be a process.”
He added, “There are going to be some family dynamics that enter the equation from my side, having to contend with my parents and their thoughts on him.”
Then, we’ll jump back to present day where Dan Fogelman explains that it’ll be “restarts for everybody”. The new season is also going to be “very ambitious and sprawling in terms of how it plays with time.”
Justin Hartley hints about his character which will appear more in the second episode, “It’s a huge opportunity.” The guy is now sober and has moved to LA.
The usual premiere tradition of celebrating The Big Three birthday is here, but Randall’s actor, Sterling K. Brown, calls this one as ‘subversive’. He added, “It’s really cool and it broadens our world in a way.”
First-look pictures were initially received and posted by EW.
