An Italian Artist, popularly known as Peeta has been transforming static buildings into a visually striking illusion. The artist achieved the transformation by painting abstract shapes on them.
He equally paints murals that appear to be morphing, dissolving and ever-shifting as the illusions largely depend on the viewing angle.

Peeta, on his official website, explained his aim has always been to create a dialogue with the structural and cultural parameters of the surrounding context when painting on the wall.
The above image is of a building on a street corner in Manheim, Germany. “I loved this building since the beginning and I tried my best to combine multidisciplinary skills to change it while keeping its original taste,” the artist had shared on his Instagram.
Peeta, however, painted this image for the 2019 Stadt.Wand.Kunst mural project and used different shades of white, grey and blue as he managed to produce an illusion of a movable structure.
He also explained that his inspiration is taken from different disciplines, including design and architecture. “I’ve taken inspiration from several disciplines such as design and architecture, as far as from few artists both belonging to the graffiti world and not, but, mostly, what inspires me when I am painting is the observation of the surrounding context,” Peeta stated.
Admitting he had normally painted on walls with sprays and on canvas with an airbrush, Peeta said he plans to neutralize preconceptions and urge for the emergence of new perspectives.
Accordingly, Peeta revealed his first painting was back in 1993, adding that it was a small wall fencing private property next to his house while growing up.
