16th May was Janet Jackson’s 53rd birthday. Supporters via different social media platform had celebrated the singer and actress birthday and are quite excited about her career achievement so far.

17th May, a day after her birthday, Jackson started her “Metamorphosis” The Las Vegas Residency at the Park Theater.  The series of Janet’s shows which is currently creating a buzz is expected to run until August. Since the announcement of the first ever residency show, she has had to place other shows on sale as a result of huge demand. Tickets for the shows have however started selling since the day Janet kicked off her show.

“AllForU! Because of demand, three new dates have been added for #MetamorphosisVegas! Aug. 14, 16, & 17 go on sale this Friday, May 17!” @janetjackson Instagram account reads.

Legendary Studio Album – Meaning?

Towards the end of the year, Janet will equally be celebrating her Legendary 1989 studio album, popularly known as Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814.  Turning 30-years-old, her Metamorphosis The Las Vegas performance will be paying tribute to most of her major hits and albums. The 1989 studio album had however broken a record by scoring seven top five singles on the Billboard charts.

Other Plans or Just….?

Between, Jackson is expected to make a brief visit to Europe in June. Her first European shows since she performed Number ones: Up Close and Personal Tour in 2011. She will be playing in Glastonbury in the U.K and at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

Queen of Black Girl Magic

Earlier, Janet Jackson had been honored in March 29 by Janelle Monae. She was inducted into the Rock & Roll of Fame at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn – and was referred to as the Queen of black girl magic. Conversely, she has had 7 (seven) of her studio albums topped the U.S charts. This albums includes All for You, Unbreakable, Control, The Velvet Rope, Discipline, Janet and Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814.
