Fans Want This Tribute For Ryan Dunn But Johnny Knoxville Refuses
They will be back. Someday.
The record-running animation ‘The Simpsons’ has reached its 31st season. Matt Groening finally spoke up that a second movie of the animation might happen anytime soon, especially since 20th Century Fox has been acquired by Disney.
Pretty sure that if Disney has acquired one its biggest cash cow, it will want to squeeze it as much as possible. ‘The Simpsons’ is not just popular – it’s a classic with grown-up diehard fans who also have kids that can be introduced to the hilarious family of Simpsons.
Matt Groening confirms of the possibilities on San Diego Comic-Con, “No doubt there will be another Simpsons movie one of these days. I think Disney wants something for its money.”
So, yeah, aside from the confirmation, we don’t have a release date or anything else. But it’s pretty warming to know that it will arrive sooner or later. And judging by what Matt said about the first movie from 12 years ago almost killed the show, we want them to do this one properly.
“This is a true answer. The first Simpsons Movie almost killed us.
“We didn’t have a B-team waiting to do The Simpsons Movie, so the same people who wrote, animated, voiced and did the music for The Simpsons TV show also did the movie.
“That was in 2007. We’re almost recovered, almost.”
For the same team to work on a running animation show AND the movie is a killer move indeed. This is why if you are a fan of Japanese animation as well, you will notice that different studios work the same show for its movie and episodes. If they want to use the same studio, it will skip a year on releasing new episodes and focus on the movie instead.
Oh, other new things revealed during the SDCC is that ‘The Dragon Prince’ original Netflix animation is set to have 3 seasons for its first part, another untitled second part split into 3 seasons and the third part with unnamed last part divided into 2 seasons.
Oh, and surprise, surprise, Natalie Portman is returning to the fourth installment of Taika Waititi-directed ‘Thor’ as Lady Thor alongside Chris Hemsworth. And you are now either slightly confused, excited or simply want more details on what exactly the fourth movie of Thor is going to be about. And if Loki will be in it (we know you’re wondering about that).
