Needless to say, Game of Thrones Season 8 was a big disaster. Sure, it had great CGI, amazing battle scenes, so on and so forth. But if we were to consider the decade of hard work that has been put into it, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss did a great job at turning it into just another action show with awesome effect.
Character development got thrown amongst the Night Walkers that was burnt by Drogon. The plot was rushed as if the writers were afraid the actors will grow old before they manage to finish the series. Coffee cups were all over the place.
So, why bring them into Star Wars trilogy?
Disney has officially announced that a new trilogy will begin in December 2022, the second movie in 2024 and the finale in another two years, 2026. It was exciting before season 8 came out because Game of Thrones has captivated people with everything: their CGI, stellar acting and character development, solid plot, twists that make you question the morality of the characters, etc.
Season 8 could be likened to how Dany torched down the Red Keep, the very throne she wanted so bad for more than a decade.
DnD officially torched down the show, hitting record-low 35% on Rotten Tomatoes. This is the same show that once hit an almost perfect rating of 98% on their third season in the audience score. Season 7 ended with a rating of 85% which is still awesome.
16,000 people have signed the petition. Check it out: Keep DnD away from Star Wars trilogy.
PS: If you’re wondering, no, it’s not the actual George R. R. Martin who started the petition.
