Three UK Plans To Launch 5G Network In 25 Towns By August

5G home broadband service will be available in London.

Three UK has announced it plans to launch a 5G Network in August with support for both mobile phones and home broadband.

To be made available in about 25 towns across the UK – to including London, Cardiff, Glasgow, Birmingham, Liverpool, and Manchester by the end of the year, the company has however not disclosed the venue for the launching.

While the Three announcements also mentioned that its 5G network is using a cloud base core network from Nokia, the company’s 5G home broadband service will be available in London.

Accordingly, Three’s UK August launch date will make it the third 5G network to launch in the country. Earlier, the country had witnessed EE’s Network which is currently live in six cities and at launch offered an average speed of around 200 Mbps.

Three UK is claims its network will be 2× faster than its rivals

Likewise, Vodafone’s 5G network will be arriving by July 3rd. Three UK is also acknowledging that its network will be 2× faster than its rivals – all thanks to the 140MHz of the spectrum it claims to have. however over doubles that of its competitors.

With that being said, Three has not yet announced pricing or handset availability on its network, but Huawei’s Mate 20 X 5G is unlikely to be among its 5G devices. Most especially as both EE and Vodafone had decided to drop the handset due to the Huawei’s uncertain future.
