Woman, 89, Knitted 450 Blankets For Shelter Dogs, And It’s Gorgeous

“I love knitting and I love dogs, so this combines both wonderfully!”

In today’s world, there are millions of dogs waiting in shelters to be adopted by anybody. While they calmingly wait for day-to-night for the forever home, they still, however, deserve some attention and care.

Relying largely on volunteers and shelters employees, dogs remain the human best animal pet for decades now.

Nevertheless, a particular dog lover has gone viral on the internet – most especially stood out best in the lineage of philanthropists.  A woman aged, 87 from the United Kingdom has knitted over 450 blankets to assist shelter dogs to stay warm when it’s cold at night.

Known as Maise Green, she has been on the good deeds for about 3 years till date. And she equally distributed coats and blankets every three times in 365days – but with the assistance of her family. Accordingly, she brings in dozens of handmade goods the puppy.

Reportedly, the zeal to assist animals has remained very appealing to Green, since she had always loved knitting.

“I love knitting and I love dogs, so this combines both wonderfully! It takes me three days to knit a blanket and one day to knit a doggy coat. It keeps me busy and often, I like to knit whilst watching television. I’m delighted to be helping the four-legged residents at the center in some way,” Green explained.

Years ago, a dog shelter – Dogs Trust in England began an initiative by asking people to knit dog coats.

“Nifty with needles or handy with a crochet hook? We’re calling all crafty types to contribute home-made dog coats for our Hope Project Christmas hampers,” Dog Trust wrote on their Facebook page years back.
