Woman Spotted Trying To Climb UK’s Highest Mountain In Flip-Flops

‘Many people underestimate Ben Nevis.’

A woman has been tagged ‘idiot’ after severally trying to climb up the UK’s tallest mountain while wearing flip-flops.

She was seen with no socks and climbing shoes, but with a thin sole and a string of plastic to keep her balance.

Janey Ballantyne, a Facebook User who also appeared to be climbing the 1,345 metre Ben Nevis recently,  shared the picture of a woman’s impractical climbing stuff with a caption “Let’s walk Ben Nevis in Flip Flops. Really?

Apparently, the woman never got to the top.

Aside from wearing beach footwear, the unnamed woman was also seen with cropped leggings trying to navigate the disrupted rocks with her hands hidden in hoodie pockets. She equally flaunted an ankle bracelet and a toe ring.

Other climbers, however, stood by her side with walking poles, flasks, and waterproof jackets.

Nevertheless, there’s a place and time to look pretty, but not for the mountain. Graciously, the unnamed woman made it back before a storm hit, making it even worse to climb back.

Reacting, a commentator said, ‘She’s a mountain rescue episode waiting to happen,’

Another writer said, ‘This is a disgrace! She is not only endangering her life but those of the mountain rescue who would come out to rescue her when she goes over her ankle.”

Also reacting, the mountaineering Scotland stressed the importance of staying safe while climbing a peak. ‘Many people underestimate Ben Nevis. It is a demanding walk with a number of potential hazards and yearly there are accidents which could have been avoided had the people involved being prepared and properly equipped.’

The unnamed woman was, however lucky because her story could have ended in a different manner.
