X-Men: Dark Phoenix Ending Reportedly COMPLETELY Changed

Producer Hutch Parker and Professor X, James McAvoy reveals why.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is delayed and it turns out that the movie’s ending has been reshoot and completely changed. According to the actor who plays Professor X, James McAvoy, “The end [of Dark Phoenix] changed a hell of a lot. The finale HAD to change. There was a lot of overlap and parallels with another superhero movie that came out… a while ago.”

They didn’t spare without spoiling the whole original ending. Producer Hutch Parker spilled the beans: “There was more of a cosmic story… the story ended in space in a much more significant way.”

It’s pretty easy to spot out which movie they were referencing to. Just recently, Disney acquired Fox which owned X-Men. Disney also holds the rights to Marvel and the only movie with a female lead as the superhero is Captain Marvel‘s, Carol Danvers. She also ended up in space and had an incredible superpower to blast through skies and blow up spaceships.

Disney probably didn’t want their new heroine movie to have their new heroine movie to end the same way as a movie that came out 3 months ago and appeared just recently in a different movie. It’s too fresh to forget and the new movie might be overshadowed by Captain Marvel.

A leaker added, “There is an alien invasion and Jean flies into space and gives up all her powers to destroy the fleet. The End.”

Yeah, glad that we hear about this first. It’s nice to know that it won’t be Captain Marvel 2: Dark Phoenix. But it’s definitely a challenge for crew and cast to do something different, yet, spectacular and impactful.

Parker reveals where the new ending will happen, “We actually shifted that to be back on Earth, most notably, so that we can involve our main characters and see them come together.”

Final trailer of Dark Phoenix is out! The movie will hit the theater June 6.
