No parent on Earth would have ever desired to have a child with rare conditions. Neither will any guardian want a child who falls sick practically every month. No human being would also want to see their friends, partners or adopted daughter or son being rushed or taken to hospital for one illness or the other.
However, it’s inevitable not to visit the hospital. In as much as children get uncomfortable with some medical items used in the hospital, the desire of every parent is to see their kids healthy and strong.
Nevertheless, An American girl, aged 12 has dealt with her fears by creating a lasting solution for herself and for many other young patients.
Ella Casano had been diagnosed at the age of 7 with Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP). It’s a kind of disease that enhances the risk of bleeding and injury as well as destroy platelets. Ella has received a blood infusion almost every eight weeks in the hospital.
Called the Medi Teddy, the young girl attaches her medicine bag to a Teddy bear to hide her IV bags. It is regarded as a stuffed animal toy used in hiding the front of an IV bag – a plastic hospital bag that is filled with liquids.
Ella stated: “Without any treatment, I have an extremely low number of platelets in my body, and I am at high risk for bleeding or injury which makes it hard for me to play certain sports or participate in certain activities.
I can’t go sledding, climb trees, play sports like soccer or lacrosse, ride my bike, or even do PE class when my platelets are very low.”
So instead of looking at the scary IV bag, any young patient can now look at the smiling Teddy bear.
When will there ever be a toilet that pops up in my neighborhood?
