The Rock Wanted Jason Momoa To Be His Brother In ‘Hobbs And Shaw’
The spin-off movie of the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise could have had Momoa as Johnson’s baby bro.
If you miss ‘Fast and Furious’ for all of its cool actions and blockbuster feels, ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ will bring you exactly what you want. Starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, we know for sure that these heavyweight players are going to blow the theater up.
But there is one more person that could have been added into the story and Dwayne ‘Rock’ Johnson also mentioned his wish to have been able to invite him. That person is no other than the hero that breathes underwater, Jason Momoa.
While The Rock has been confirmed as Black Adam, an archenemy of Shazam, giving Aquaman his chance to have a showdown with Johnson, he wanted to have a friendlier relationship on-screen as well. Johnson tried getting Momoa into the movie as his younger brother.
But as you’ve seen on the trailer, Momoa is nowhere to be seen.
“Me and Momoa tried hard to get him in this movie to play my brother, but his schedule was too packed.” So, Roman Reigns got, a WWE wrestler, got chosen for the role instead.
The universe of ‘Fast and Furious’ will expand and ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ is just one step towards that. And it’s definitely not a finale to the series, as Johnson has assured, “As of now, we’re not in ‘Fast Nine’ because they’re getting ready to start shooting. But who knows with ‘Fast 10’? And down the road, you never know.”
‘Hobbs and Shaw’ arrival will be on August 2 this year and if you haven’t seen the trailer, check out below!
