Amazon’s Lord Of The Rings TV Show, Will It Be Recognized Like HBO’s Game Of Thrones?

Hired Game of Thrones Writer.

It’s not surprising that Game of Thrones have always been compared to Lord of the Rings, mostly as they both feature sorcery and swords scenarios to including complicated literary source’s contents.

With huge fans respectively, Amazon had, however hired HBO Bryan Cogman, a Game of Thrones Writer to work on their show. Cogman had over time worked with the series since beginning having been introduced as assistance for showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff. It’s obviously an intent to share more DNA with Thrones. So, can this move make it as popular as Game of Thrones?

Although, not much is known about this Amazon’s show apart from the e-commerce titan that has already committed to several seasons, but amazon can still surprise us, most especially if Ian McKellen reprises his role has Gandalf.

“We are honored to be working with the Tolkien Estate and Trust, HarperCollins and New Line on this exciting collaboration for television and are thrilled to be taking The Lord of the Rings fans on a new epic journey in Middle Earth.” Amazon’s Sharon Tal Yguado said in a statement.

Currently, viewers seem to agree that the final season of Game of Thrones had left a great loopholes and end loose and the IMDB ranking of its episodes has placed season 8 episodes toward the bottom. Fans believe that Benioff and Weiss tried to stuff too much story into too little time, and the series ended with more of a snivel than a boom.

Similarly, there was the recent Tolkien biopic starring Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins. It made only $4 million domestically after getting an underwhelming review from audiences and critics.

Fans might however also argue that a biopic and an actual Tolkien adaptation are different, but Hobbit trilogy didn’t capture the same affection as the Lord of the Rings series did.

No doubt all six movies were box office hits, but many people stated that broadening one book into three long movies was more of a cash grasp and not a good idea at all.

Just as we envisaged Amazon’s Lord of the Rings will be a hit, we equally pray it’s not a failure. But If Amazon can use the special ring, we then will see if the show will be ‘My Precious’ or not.
