Game of Thrones Book 6 and 7 Are Finished Said One Game of Thrones Actor [UPDATED]

So, maybe this IS the ending Martin had planned for his books?

See the newest update below!

Game of Thrones is wrapping on Season 8 and this will be the final week that brings the long-running successful show to a closure. As many fans may have known, the show did not follow everything according to the original series it is based on, A Song of Ice and Fire. Although, the book, which was originally intended to be a trilogy has been expanded to seven books with the sixth volume writing in the process.

Epic Con. in St. Petersburg, Russia

Surprisingly, one of the stars from Game of Thrones claimed that George R. R. Martin finished the two books, but they were not yet published due to the contract he signed. Ian McElhinney mentioned this in a panel at Epic Con in St. Petersburg, Russia and of course, it drove a lot of fans mad. Because episode 5 was not exactly satisfying, logical nor according to the original story written by Martin. The last two books are titled “The Winds of Winter” and “A Dream of Spring.”

This is what Ser Barristan Selmy star, Ian McElhinney said about rumor:

“I don’t know if you know more than me about this, but what I’ve been told is that George has already written books six and seven,”

Martin speaks up about the writing of the sixth title of the major series, “The Winds of Winter”, and said that is has been going very well. But when asked when readers will be able to get their hands on a copy, Martin simply stated, “It’ll be done when it’s done.” This means he didn’t say anything about finished books and it’s worth noting that the fifth book took 6 years to finish and was published in 2011 while the fourth book, “A Feast for Crows” was published in 2005.

The latest episodes of Game of Thrones finale season was not completely out of beat. In fact, Martin has told Benioff and Weiss the gist of the stories, but not in details. He knew that the show could have used a couple more seasons to reach an even better closure. He also mentions, however, that due to various changes in storyline development and characters involvement, the show might not have the same ending as A Song of Ice and Fire.

The last episode of Season 8 is airing this week on May 19 and while that will bring the story to a closure, the show has 3 more spinoff episodes planning with one filming at the end of this year.

Update: George R. R. Martin firmly denies the rumor in a personal blog post in his website. Check out the story!
