Huawei Loses SD Association Permission As Well
Just one after another blow right after Trump’s executive order.
Trump’s ban on Huawei’s company permission to purchase and use US’ technology are dealing consecutive blows to Huawei. This time, SD Association which is responsible for setting the standard of SD and microSD cards, are excluding Huawei from their member.

In other words, Huawei cannot include SD card slots feature in their smartphones anymore, at least not one with the label SD. This removal is to follow the newest regulation from Trump’s executive order where Huawei is added into the ‘Entity List’.
Huawei has been relying on US technologies to manufacture much of their smartphones and laptops. SD Association is only one among many that have cut ties with Huawei – Google, ARM, Intel, Qualcomm, and Broadcom have announced their official disengagement with Huawei. Meanwhile, Panasonic has halted its transactions with Huawei.
This year, the company has released several noteworthy smartphones, such as Huawei Mate X, the foldable smartphone, and Honor 20 Pro. Yet, the future of the company is bleak with Huawei practically losing their rights to gain the world’s standard in manufacturing important parts in a smartphone.
It really makes you think if it’s really worth it to purchase a new Huawei smartphone.
