Netflix Just Made Their Order For Superhero, Crime-Fighting Elvis Presley Animation Comedy Series

He’s now the ‘Agent King’.

It has been 42 years since we lost Elvis to a heart attack. ‘The King’, who has the birth name Elvis Aaron Presley, is returning to the screen – as an animation.

Netflix

Netflix proudly announced the occasion as they got Priscilla Presley, Elvis’ ex-wife, and John Eddie to work on ‘Agent King’, an animated action-comedy series. The series is also said to be working together with Authentic Brands Group, Sony Pictures Animation, and Sony Pictures Television.

Netflix’s synopsis describes the series as follows: “Elvis Presley trades in his white jumpsuit for a jet pack when he is covertly inducted into a secret government spy program to help battle the dark forces that threaten the country he loves — all while holding down his day job as the King Of Rock And Roll.”

One of the co-creators, Priscilla Presley explains why this would be an amazing feat for Elvis, “From the time Elvis was a young boy he always dreamed of being the superhero fighting crime and saving the world! Agent King lets him do just that.”

She added, “My co-creator John Eddie and I are so excited to be working with Netflix and Sony Animation on this amazing project and getting the chance to show the world an Elvis they haven’t seen before.”

Both co-creators Presley and Eddie will also executive produce the movie while Jerry Schilling will be the consultant. The showrunner and writer are Mike Arnold from ‘Arrow’ who will also co-executive produce the show. The supervising director is Fletcher Moules.

John Varvatos will be responsible for the wardrobe of Elvis in the animated series. Authentic Brands Group’s Jamie Salter is also an executive producer with Marc Rosen and Corey Salter as co-executive producers.
