People Share Their Experiences With An App That Permit You To See For A ‘Blind Person’

About 2.5 million people have signed up to help low vision people.

In today’s world, we can all place our hands on any App we are desiring to have. Mostly for day-to-day activities, such as ordering for food and groceries online to even a therapy session – seeking for an advice on how to go about in a relationship, all of these Apps are all out there for our use.

But wait! Have you ever thought of an App that allows you to assist somebody else? If No, There’s however a trending app called the ‘BE MY EYES.’ The App permits a stranger to help impaired individuals by being their eyes.

There’s Now an App called Be My Eyes. And it allows strangers to help impaired individuals.

Launched in the year, 2015 – the main purpose of the App was to make the world an accessible place for blind people.

Currently Viral, the App has over 2 million volunteers who have assisted about 130k visually impaired people.

Specifically, the App is used in a very simple way. The visually impaired person will make a Video Call and would be answered by a volunteer who has an eye from any part of the world.

Nevertheless, both the visually impaired individuals and volunteers are sharing how the app has impacted their personal lives.

Since 2015, about 2.5 million people have signed up to help low vision people as well as the blind.

Presently, there are over 136k blind people that are seeking assistance through the app.

And since it can equally assist in reading labels on household products, dropped or lost items among others, volunteers can only get calls once in a while.

The Idea originated from Hans Jorgen Wiberg. He was visually impaired.

Be My Eyes has, however, united the world and has created a network of volunteers who assist visually impaired people.
