Wesley Snipes is now confirmed to join Eddie Murphy on a sequel movie to ‘Coming to America’, according to THR. If anyone still remembers the popular comedic flick by Paramount Pictures, it was starred by Eddie Murphy who played a wealthy African prince, Akeem, in search of a wife. It was directed by John Landis and released initially in 1988 or 31 years ago.
Akeem made it McDonald’s and found himself a beautiful wife with his best friend portrayed by Arsenio Hall. The later has agreed on coming back to portray the same role for the movie. Meanwhile, the plot so far has been revealed to be Prince Akeem’s return to Uncle Sam’s country in search of his son.
Snipes role is a new character, General Izzi, the ruler of a neighboring country. The movie will be directed by Craig Brewer and produced by Misher Films. The movie is seeing the return of trio Snipes, Murphy and Brewer. The three also worked together in ‘Dolemite Is My Name’ which is streaming on Netflix.
It has also been previously confirmed that the movie is slated to hit theaters on August 7, 2020, with the title still unknown.
