Filming For ‘A Quiet Place 2’ Has Started
Featuring a deeper dive into the universe.
The filming has kicked off and with such a big universe and setting, it’s very easy for local New Yorkers to spot the set. Snaps have been taken and shared online, showing crews setting up the place, president of JFG and John Krasinki with his wife.
“The set for A Quiet Place 2 or Stranger Things 3? You decide.”
Residents in Olcott were crowding the area to see the filming progress and several roads are closed for the purpose. Newfane Town Supervisor Timothy R. Horanburg told The Buffalo News that people were enthusiastic and security guards were placed.

Buffalo Library also uploaded a picture with the Abbott family stars, confirming that they were shooting in the area for the sequel.
The first movie was directed by John Krasinki who also played and starred as Lee Abbott alongside his real-life wife, Emily Blunt. Krasinki revealed that he didn’t expect the well-received movie to have a sequel.
“To be perfectly honest, it was never really on my mind while we were making it. I never really thought of it as an expanded world; I always thought of it as a one-off.”
“The thing that I loved in the movie, where my mind kept wandering as we were making it, was the question of who was on the other end of those fires when the father lights the fire and in the distance, those other fires light up. How did those people survive? How did that old man survive?
“In the extreme, these characters are going through, there’s no room to think about that. They’re there, there’s an old man who’s about to scream, they just have to deal with that. I think it would be interesting to see what’s going on elsewhere at this same time,” Krasinki added.
It seems that the movie will explore the world even wider, showing what other characters on the other side of the town are doing, how the apocalypse affected people aside from the Abbott family. On December last year, he also revealed that the movie will focus on new characters aside from his on-screen family.
