Disneyland $14 Million Marvel Expansion To Open In 2020

One new design might include an interactive Spider-Man ride.

The city of Anaheim has finally approved several building permits for new projects. Initially announcing plans for space at the California Adventure Park based on Superheroes of Marvel’s comics and film, the approval entails planning for a bathroom overhaul, microbrewery, retail outlet, an attractive walkway as well as the renovation of existing buildings.

So far, the value of the approved plans amounts to $14 million dollars and this is however just the kick-off.

A bug’s land – an area of the gigantic theme park featuring characters from the 1998 film – A Bug’s Life has been demolished to create space for the new Superhero Land.

Disney who had acquired the Marvel’s space in 2009 for $4 billion has declined to respond to the approval or what attractions it sets to be included in the new design. But sources have revealed that one new addition might include the interactive Spider-Man ride.

While Marvel’s attractions also planned for about three parks across the globe to include Hong Kong Disneyland by 2023, Epcot Park in Florida by 2021 and Walt Disney Studio Park in Paris by 2020, fans have high hopes for the Marvel-themed expansion.

Since Avengers: Endgame has broken several box offices records and has equally taken over $2 billion at the box office worldwide, this new development is of no surprise – most especially as Disney is rushing to develop the Marvel expansion as soon as possible.

However, more information about these projects will be released at the Disney Celebration D23. It is scheduled to take place on the 23rd – 25th of August at the Anaheim Convention Center.
