Everything You Need To Know About ‘The Haunting Of Hill House’ Season 2
Everything you need to know now.
First off, it’s happening!
If you haven’t heard about it and if you are thinking we’re putting up a click-bait, no. It’s real and we are here to summarize everything you need to know about the horror series. The first series which first aired on October 12, 2018, on Netflix was so successful, people can’t stop getting scared over it.
It was loosely based on Shirley Jackson’s 1959 novel of the same title. The story follows the Crain family with their five children as their experience in Hill House changes their lives forever.
It’s called ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’.
Yes, they’re changing the settings to a place obviously named Bly Manor. This title is also based on Henry James’ 1898 novella ‘The Turn of the Screw’ according to what Mike Flanagan, creator of the show says. It’s going to be different, but will definitely retain the horror essence that made the Netflix show so loved.
“We’re looking at all the ghost stories of Henry James as the jumping-off point for the season, so it very much is a whole new deal,” says Flanagan. “It’s a cool way to expand on some of the things I loved about Season 1, but within the framework of a new story, without having to be restrained by the decisions we made last time.”
He added how people might think about it, “For Henry James fans, it’s going to be pretty wild, and for people who aren’t familiar with his work, it’s going to be unbelievably scary. I already think it’s much scarier than season 1, so I’m very excited about it.”
The story follows a governess who cares for two kids in a manor that she is convinced is haunted. Well, that’s all we need to know – a woman alone with two kids in a huge widely-rumored to be haunted.
We’ll have the same cast.
It’s definitely something that is pretty unusual to do as most people bring in new people for new faces. But Flanagan is getting the same people to portray different roles this time.
For the first seasons, we had Michiel Huisman, Carla Gugino, Henry Thomas, Elizabeth Reaser, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Kate Siegel and Victoria Pedretti.
At least two of them are confirmed to return to the second season and those two are Pedretti and Jackson-Cohen who were twins in the first season. It’s also possible that Kate Siegel will make a comeback at least in some way, being Flanagan’s wife and his collaborator in some projects before.
Returning next year in 2020.
In the tweet confirming the return of the series, we also know that this will air in 2020.
