‘Handmaid’s Tale’ Season 4 Is Returning On Hulu
It’s definitely happening and we’ll see what June is up to as she declines escaping.
We hope you have finished season 1 and 2 as well as the latest episode of season 3 because there will definitely a whole bunch of spoilers here.
‘Handmaid’s Tale’ tells the story of a handmaid who lives in a dystopian society. The totalitarian society of what was part of the United States now gathers rare fertile women who must serve as ‘handmaids’ who provide sexual servitude. This is to tackle the alarming low birthrate and population of the world as the environment begins to fail.
Elizabeth Moss portrays June who was separated from her daughter and works hard to find her way back. On the way, she fights against the society, forming a resistance while rescuing as many children as possible.
Season 2 shows Emily (Alexis Bledel), her fellow handmaid, escaping to Canada with her daughter. While remaining in Gilead, determined June works with kitchen servers. The trailer of season 3 even teased June and Serena sitting and smoking together like ol’ buddies.
On the other hand, Emily struggles to live in a society where freedom is once again upheld. Bledel talks about the new challenges Bledel will face.
“I think she’s a dealing with a real shock to the system, being back in a society that she recognizes. She’s in Canada now…her family is there, so you can assume that she is going to want to reconnect, as of course, they’ve never left her mind the whole while she’s been in Gilead struggling to survive.
“Now, she’s struggling to survive in a new way, fighting, sort of, against her own impulses.
“She’s been kind of hardwired to react to things, like guards with guns around every corner and things exploding, threats, things being taken away from her at every turn. So, without that aggression present, there is still all the trauma that lives inside her that she’s battling with, trying to process, perhaps better understand now in this new environment. Re-connection is so hard.”
The finale for the third season is set to air on August 14. And after that, there will be at least a few months of waiting and the show might begin airing on June again as they did this year.
