Volkswagen Iconic Yellow Bus Will Make Its Epic Eco-Friendly Comeback By 2022

If there’s a type of transportation or vehicle that will remind you of the 80s and 90s, it’s going to be the iconic Volkswagen bus that is painted in yellow. Like the one, you see below!

This microbus was the vehicle the family chose to use to bring them the beauty pageant ‘Little Miss Sunshine’. A lot of malfunctioning happens, but through all those rough trips, the family manages to reach where they need to be at.

But the brand is not just iconic – they are also remembered for scandals revolving the cheating of tests they did with their diesel cars.

The United States Environmental Protection Agency issued a notice of violation to Volkswagen back in 2015. The notice was released because the automakers have been found out to cheat the test cycle by programming their software that will show pass-worthy results.

The vehicles passed the tests and were distributed, but they were actually releasing much more emission than they claimed to have in the tests.

Since then, they have been trying hard to bring their image back from the issue. A brand that has lied before will definitely find it hard to gain trusts, so they decided to release the ID. Family series that are electrically fueled. Along with this, the classic Volkswagen Microbus is reborn and production is set to begin in 2022.

Their new ad on the VW microbus is a nod to their mistakes in the past as they added a message: “In the darkness, we found the light. Introducing a new era of electric driving.” Volkswagen Group of America President and CEO Scott Keogh spoke up about the ad and their previous mistake:

“This campaign is for all those we disappointed, and all of those who stayed with us, those who worked like crazy to keep us moving forward and for all of those who stopped caring. We have a responsibility to do better, to be greater and we intend to shoulder that responsibility.”

The new bus is able to hold up to seven people comfortably and the batteries, as well as electric motors, are installed in the floor. While retaining the retro design, the vehicle has also fulfilled the crash safety standards. A console is added that allows passengers to pop up a table inside.
