What seems like a slightly recoiling prank a guy did is now putting him under the risk of facing jail sentences. Lenise Martin III is a 36-year-old man posted a video that has given him charges for notoriety and publicity. Martin opened a tub of ice-cream and licked it a couple of times before closing the lid back and putting it into the freezer again.
He uploaded the video on Twitter, doing the exact same thing another girl did earlier this week in a supermarket in Belle Rose, Louisiana.
The copycat prankster then, now criminal, is currently in jail for the video despite the fact that he has the receipt for the tub of ice-cream he licked. He claimed to don’t leave it just like that and had bought it home with him. However, through Lousiana’s rare law, Martin was arrested for posting the video.
Lenise Martin III is a 36-year-old man from Los Angeles who recently went viral.
He posted a video of him licking a tub of Blue Bell Ice Cream. This is a copycat prank to a girl who got 11m viewers for doing the same thing.
Managers realized the video went viral, but Martin was able to provide a receipt of him actually purchasing the tub of ice-cream.
The video shows Martin opening the lid of a big tub of Blue Bell Ice Cream and licking it once. He dipped his finger and licked it another time before closing the lid and putting it back to the freezer. Managers of the store who notice the video went to look for Martin only to found out he had a receipt of actually purchasing the ice-cream.
However, he was still arrested and is currently in jail waiting for a bond from the judge. The spokesman from Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office strictly condone this act, “It is illegal. It is a health risk to others. We will pursue anyone we see do this. You will be charged.”
The video was a kind of ‘challenge’ for the man as another teenage girl did it last Saturday.
On June 28, the girl who was encouraged by her boyfriend licked a tub of Blue Bell Ice Cream and left it in the freezer.
Upon investigation of the video that went viral, the two were caught but were discovered to have been underage.
Thus, the two suspects were not dealt with as adults since they were minors. Both she and her boyfriend were cooperative with the officials as they admitted to the stunts they did. While the officials refused to name the girl since she was a minor, many have recognized her Twitter account.
As of now, her old account has been deactivated and a new private account was made. There are also ‘catfish’ account impersonating her, but it was confirmed that it wasn’t her who stirred others to copy what she did.
“It was actually the catfish and NOT our suspect who bragged on Instagram about the incident saying: “Yeah, I really did that. You can call it Flu Bell ice cream now ‘cause I was a lil sick last week. Repost yourself doing this. Let’s see if we can start an epidemic (literally),” according to the police.
Martin posed with a smile for his mugshot as he wanted to become famous from the video.
