Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 Will Feature Accurate ECG Heart Rate Tracker
First of its kind.
All-new, yet-announced Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 will feature ECG heart tracking. This will be the first smartwatch by Samsung that features ECG or electrocardiogram trackers that detect electric pulses from your wrist.
Reports have claimed, however, that the feature won’t be made available on initial release, but in future updates in 2020. That is if the ECG has gained FDA permissions to be put into the device.
What is the difference between this and its predecessor’s heart tracking feature? Previous versions use light-based optical trackers that are less accurate and pretty basic. Meanwhile, ECG is more accurate and may even allow the device to detect the health condition of the user.
Apple Watch also previously got their update back in December for US.which is post-release of the device in September. The update arrived in the UK in March and got their clearance during release. The approval arrives a little later.
Samsung has yet announced the device and therefore, it’s not clear whether or not Samsung has got their clearance.
The unveiling of the device will happen during the Samsung Galaxy Note 10‘s unveiling on August 7th in New York.
